Job description

Our client, a well-established boutique hospitality property in the heart of Cape Town, is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Housekeeper to join their team. This role is vital in ensuring that guests enjoy a clean, comfortable, and welcoming stay through exceptional service and meticulous attention.

This position is to start ASAP.

Key Responsibilities

• Clean and service guest rooms daily, including changing linens, dusting, vacuuming, sanitizing bathrooms, and replenishing amenities.
• Maintain cleanliness in all public areas such as lobbies, hallways, elevators, and restrooms.
• Respond promptly and courteously to guest requests, ensuring their comfort and satisfaction.
• Handle guest laundry, restock linens and towels, and ensure all supplies are available for each shift.
• Report any maintenance issues, damages, or defects to the Housekeeping Supervisor or Maintenance team.
• Follow all South African health and safety regulations and use cleaning materials and PPE safely.
• Properly dispose of waste and follow environmentally sustainable cleaning practices.
• Log and report lost and found items in accordance with company policy.

Requirements

• South African ID
• MUST be based in Cape Town
• MUST be able to work shifts
• Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience in a hospitality environment.
• Basic understanding of cleaning products, tools, and hygiene standards.
• Ability to follow instructions and health & safety protocols.
• Strong communication skills in English
• Physically fit and able to perform cleaning duties efficiently.
