Our facilities team plays a critical role in ensuring that our infrastructure systems and environment support safe efficient and uninterrupted hospital operations. We are now looking for an experienced and proactive Facilities Engineering Manager to lead and develop our estates and engineering services.

The Role

As the Facilities Engineering Manager you will oversee the maintenance compliance and development of all hospital engineering systems plant and equipment. You will lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers and technicians ensure statutory and regulatory compliance manage contractors and maintenance contracts and contribute to capital project planning and delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day operation of the hospitals engineering and building services including electrical mechanical HVAC and medical gas systems.
• Ensure all systems comply with healthcare standards (HTMs HBNs) legislation and health & safety regulations.
• Manage planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across the estate.
• Oversee and coordinate external contractors and specialist service providers.
• Prepare and manage engineering budgets and capital expenditure plans.
• Support environmental sustainability and energy efficiency initiatives.
• Provide engineering input into refurbishment expansion and capital projects.
• Lead emergency response for engineering-related incidents and infrastructure failures.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Electrical or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent).
• Proven experience in engineering management within a hospital or healthcare environment.
• Experience managing a team of technical staff and contractors.
• Excellent understanding of complex building systems and technical operations.
• Strong leadership communication and organizational skills.
