Description
  • Conduct field research and trials related to tropical and sub-tropical crops postharvest activities and sweet potato product development.
  • Engage with project team members within the project.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment; perform basic laboratory tests and record experimental data accurately.
  • Ability to work for extended time periods in the laboratory and field environment.
  • Collect capture and process materials for laboratory analysis and agro-processing activities.
  • Assist with postharvest and agro-processing operations including sweet potato product development, fruit pulping, drying, juicing and product preservation.
  • Compile verbal and written reports detailing methodologies, activities and research findings for supervisors and project lead.
  • Contribute towards the dissemination of outcomes through presentations and publications.
  • Ensure compliance with the applicable OHS, GMP and Food Safety policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • BSc Degree or BTech in Food Science and Technology / Post harvest / Plant Production.
  • Candidate to register for Honours degree.

Competitive remuneration package will be congruent with the scope responsibilities and the stature of the position.
