Job summary

Netcare invites you to join as a Professional Nurse/Clinical Nurse responsible for holistic, patient-centered care within the multi-disciplinary health team. You will assess, plan and implement care, in collaboration with physicians, families and the community, and apply scientifically based nursing theories.

You will serve as a clinical resource, coordinate services, initiate emergency treatment, document patient status, and communicate effectively with the unit manager and other departments.

Qualifications

• Assess, plan and implement individualized nursing care.
• Coordinate patient care within a multi-disciplinary team.
• Provide emergency care and RESUS when indicated.
• Document patient status and communicate with families and health professionals.
• Ensure safe and quality care within SOPs and policies.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a clinical resource to assess, plan, implement, evaluate and document nursing care in the unit.
• Coordinate communication with family and health professionals regarding optimal patient care.
• Participate in rounds with physicians to review patient status and develop care plans.
• Prepare day/night shift documentation reflecting patient status and staffing.
• Maintain communication with unit management and address activity and problems.
