Job summary

Qualifications

• A relevant qualification in a scientific field or equivalent experience.
• Experience in a school laboratory environment is advantageous.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail managing lab supplies and equipment.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with students and staff.
• Proficiency in applying safety practices and protocols within a laboratory environment.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a teaching team.
• Basic understanding of biological, chemical, and physical science principles is preferred.
• Chemical handling and storage training.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain laboratory equipment and materials for experiments.
• Assist teachers in conducting laboratory experiments and demonstrations.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and proper disposal of hazardous materials.
• Support students in understanding laboratory procedures during practical sessions.
• Organize and manage inventory of laboratory supplies, reagents and equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of laboratory instruments.
• Assist in development of practical lesson plans and assessments related to laboratory work.
• Maintain a clean and orderly laboratory space for instructional use.
