Job description
Job Purpose

The school is seeking a dedicated and experienced Afrikaans First Language Teacher to teach Grades 10-12. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching, preparing learners for internal assessments and NSC examinations, and ensuring academic excellence in line with CAPS requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach Afrikaans First Language to Grades 10, 11 and 12
  • Plan, prepare and deliver engaging lessons in line with the CAPS curriculum
  • Set, mark and moderate tests, assignments and examinations
  • Mark internal assessments and examination scripts accurately and timeously
  • Prepare learners for NSC examinations and monitor academic progress
  • Maintain accurate learner records, reports and assessment schedules
  • Attend staff meetings, subject meetings and parent-teacher engagements
  • Contribute positively to the academic culture and ethos of the school
Minimum Requirements
  • Recognised teaching qualification (BEd or PGCE)
  • Afrikaans First Language proficiency (spoken and written)
  • Minimum of 5 years teaching experience at high school level
  • Proven experience teaching Grades 10 to 12
  • Sound knowledge of CAPS curriculum and assessment requirements
  • Experience with marking exams and formal assessments
