HIGH SCHOOL AQUATICS COACH (PART-TIME): SWIMMING & WATER POLO

Dainfern College seeks to appoint a passionate and experienced Aquatics Coach (Swimming & Water Polo) to join our High School Sports department and work on a part-time basis from January 2026.

Dainfern College is an independent English-medium, co-educational school situated on Broadacres Drive, Dainfern , north of Fourways in Johannesburg. The College caters for Grades 0-12 and offers IEB Matric as the Grade 12 exit exam. Our ethos is Christian and is based on the core concept of respect. This role offers the opportunity to develop young athletes, fostering both competitive excellence and a lifelong love for both swimming and water polo.

Key responsibilities

  • Plan and conduct engaging swimming and water-polo training sessions for U14-Open age groups.
  • Coach and manage teams during galas, fixtures, tournaments and festivals.
  • Develop players’ technique and technical skills.
  • Collaborate with the Heads of Aquatics/Sports department to align with the College’s sporting vision.
  • Ensure a safe, positive and disciplined environment at all times.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in coaching swimming and water polo (school or club level).
  • Relevant coaching qualification or accreditation (preferred).
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work part‑time hours, including mornings, afternoons and occasional weekends for galas and matches.
  • Commitment to the values and ethos of Dainfern College.
  • Provision of a police clearance certificate and an NRSO clearance certificate.
