Job summary

A legal consulting firm seeks a Legal Advisor to provide legal advisory services and support for regulatory and commercial issues. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor of Law Degree, is an admitted attorney, and has at least 3 years of post-admission experience. Proficiency in Afrikaans and English is required. This role requires excellent administrative skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work in high-pressure environments.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ post admission qualification, preferably in property development or commercial legal experience.
• Proficient in Afrikaans & English (advanced).

Responsibilities

• Drafting and editing written material upon the instructions of the head of legal.
• Receive and review various agreements for scrutiny.
• Drafting of various types of agreements, including lease agreements.
• Conduct legal research and maintain litigation files.

Skills

Understanding the standard principles associated with debt recovery

Good grasp on civil litigation procedures

Exposure to the Insolvency Act

Negotiating terms of commercial agreements

Problem-solving abilities

Education

Bachelors of Law Degree (LLB | BCom)

Admitted Attorney of the High Court
