Job summary

Apex Group in Cape Town seeks a Senior Specialist – Hedge Funds to strengthen the Fund Accounting team. The role focuses on reviewing, improving, and automating daily and monthly processes for South African priced hedge funds, and coordinating with ICT on application development and testing.

Ideal candidates have 4–5 years in financial data within investment environments, a B.Com or equivalent, strong Excel and InvestOne skills, and a drive to deliver efficient, scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• 4–5 years of experience working with financial data in an investment environment.
• Qualification in Accounting, Data Science, or Data Analytics is preferred (B.com).
• Experienced with diverse fund types, locally or internationally.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and InvestOne; familiarity with Copilot for Business is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Improve daily and monthly Fund Accounting processes and implement automation, robotics, AI, and other technologies to standardise and increase efficiency.
• Assist with issues arising from operations, review processes, and propose improvement initiatives.
• Own end‑to‑end project delivery, including testing and implementation within Fund Accounting.
• Provide solutions for complex client requirements, including client engagement, investigation, and testing.
• Liaise with ICT and system developers to define and deliver application requirements.
• Maintain relationships with internal stakeholders and external clients.
