Responsibilities describe the role’s focus on health and safety compliance, SHE management, and support to branches.
Responsibilities
- Ensure that the Company complies with all statutory requirements as per the Occupational Health & Safety Act and relevant regulations.
- Implement and manage an effective SHE management system.
- Ensure that all third parties (contractors / sub-contractors / suppliers) comply with regulations as per the OSHACT; Establish, implement, and manage SHE committees.
- Conduct monthly SHE Audits, SHE committee meetings and generate monthly reports.
- Render assistance to branches regarding health and safety issues when required.
- Proper and timely assessment of risks to health and safety and implementation of measures and arrangements identified as necessary from the assessment.
- Ensure legal compliance with regulations.
Qualifications / Skills
- Certificate in NOSA (SAMTRAC) or equivalent (NQF5)
- Registered with the institute of Safety Managers.
- Excellent written & Verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge and understanding of the relevant legislation.
- Relevant experience in the Health & Safety environment at a senior level.
- Knowledge and experience with ISO will be an advantage, Proficient in MS office.
- Ability to communicate and present at all levels.
- Drivers License and own vehicle.
- No criminal record and clean disciplinary record; Ability to work as a team.
- Willing to work long hours / overtime as and when required.
