A leading retail company in Cape Town is seeking a Health and Safety Manager to lead the development and implementation of health and safety strategies. The role involves conducting risk assessments, providing safety training, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Candidates should have a National Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety and a minimum of 3-5 years' experience in relevant fields such as logistics or manufacturing.
Lead, develop, implement, maintain and improve group safety strategy, policies and proceduresImplementation and monitoring of health and safety policies and proceduresBe involved in the operational implementation, guidance and training of all health and safety aspects on siteFacilitate and conduct risk assessments (HIRA)Facilitate site inductions for employees, contractors, and relevant stakeholders (OHS training in the Distribution Centre)Ensure that the site meets its statutory obligations in all areas pertaining to Occupational Health, safety and welfare at work, including statutory training and reportingCompile daily, weekly, monthly and event-based reports for risk and safety management reportsEnsures machinery safety in collaboration with engineering and maintenance teamsReviewing & updating TFG OHS files and Distribution centre boardsSupport and develop and delivery of health and safety training programs for employeesLead and participate in incident investigations and assist in the preparation of reports.Ensure section 24 incidents are reported to the provincial director as per GAR 6Ensure timeous reports of reportable and disabling injuries to the groupRainin's NCR's and updating group registerEnsure maintenance of accurate records of safety inspections, incidents and trainingCollaboration with various departments to promote a culture of health and safety awarenessAssist in the preparation of safety communications and materials aligned with the group safety communication policyStop any unsafe acts or processes that seem dangerous or unhealthyEnsure that contracts doing any work on site meet all legal requirements in accordance with TFG contractor management standards, policies and procedures.Ensure implementation of the TFG RRI (Risk Reduction Strategy) and temousely report to the group.Draw up site safety objectives, programmes and the monitoring thereof aligned with ISO
