Job summary

Guardrisk Life is seeking a driven and passionate actuary to join its Structuring & Solutions team in Johannesburg. You will engage in technical pricing work, review new products, and participate in structuring and negotiating deals with clients and internal teams.

The role includes leading the Pricing team, mentoring junior analysts, and communicating complex pricing insights to stakeholders across the business. A qualified actuary with life pricing experience is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or related field.
• Qualified Actuary.
• Experience in life insurance pricing.
• Experience with managing a team would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Support pricing strategies for new and existing group and individual life insurance products.
• Review and refine pricing models to ensure competitiveness and profitability
• Develop robust technical pricing models
• Ensure regulatory and professional compliance by reviewing new products against relevant guidelines
• Contribute to the structuring and negotiation of new deals to optimize business outcomes
• Lead and mentor the Pricing team, providing guidance to junior actuarial analysts

You will play an integral part at Guardrisk, working in a unique environment along with our clients and internal teams to review and sign off on new/changing products and pricing. This role includes technical pricing work, working on multiple other facets of the solutions, working with clients, structuring of deals, solving interesting problems in the business and management of the Pricing team.

Duties & Responsibilities
