Job summary

Fempower Personnel is seeking a Head of Road Freight & IWS to take strategic and operational responsibility for the Road Freight product and IWS across South Africa and BLNS.

This senior appointment requires an extensive track record in logistics, with leadership in a Road Freight organisation, carrier negotiations, and cross-border solutions for key accounts. Strong EBIT focus and stakeholder management are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years' experience in the logistics industry, with a focus on Road Freight.
• At least 8 years of management experience in a reputable Road Freight organization.
• In-depth knowledge of Road Freight product and Integrated Warehousing Solutions.
• Excellent commercial acumen and geographical knowledge of Southern Africa.
• Strong leadership, negotiation, and people management skills.
• A Degree in Business Management or a related field is required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the business strategy to maximize profit and optimize assets in line with global objectives.
• Lead and mentor a high-performing team, fostering a culture of excellence and cost-consciousness.
• Oversee all aspects of operations, including carrier negotiations, traffic management, and cost analysis.
• Drive business development, identify new customer opportunities, and maintain relationships with key accounts.
• Manage the EBIT result and ensure all operational KPIs are met.
• Oversee the Integrated Warehousing Solutions function, liaising with sales on bids, RFQs, and customer presentations.
