About the Role
Reporting directly to the Chief Legal Officer, you’ll take charge of all marketing, rewards, loyalty, and partnership initiatives across the group. You’ll work closely with executive leadership to shape the strategic marketing agenda while overseeing a multidisciplinary team. This role is pivotal in aligning marketing efforts with commercial outcomes, brand growth, and stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute group-wide marketing, loyalty, rewards, and commercial strategies.
- Lead the development of integrated marketing plans across all channels to drive engagement, acquisition, and retention.
- Oversee the Rewards & Loyalty function, ensuring alignment with strategic business goals.
- Collaborate with internal departments to identify and act on product-based marketing opportunities.
- Lead and grow a team that includes Graphic Design, Digital Marketing, UI/UX, and Internal Comms & Events.
- Align closely with the Sales team to ensure marketing efforts support revenue objectives.
- Manage and optimise the marketing calendar, ensuring prioritised execution and alignment across functions.
- Own departmental budgets, KPI tracking, and supplier relationships.
- Identify and deliver impactful campaigns nationwide that align with brand and commercial objectives.
- Deliver operational and management reporting on a weekly and monthly basis.
What You’ll Bring
- 7+ years' experience leading multi-channel marketing strategies, including Digital, ATL, and Commercial.
- Proven experience in strategic oversight of Rewards and Loyalty programmes (7+ years).
- Strong leadership and people management skills, including agency and cross-functional team oversight.
- Ability to conceptualise, plan, and execute integrated campaigns across multiple platforms.
- Data-driven mindset with strong analytical skills to guide marketing decisions.
- Deep knowledge of the South African market and consumer demographics.
- Expertise in ABL, BTL, digital marketing, and campaign optimisation.
- Exceptional communication, writing, and content creation skills.
- Proficiency in social reporting tools, Microsoft Office, Mac OS, and design-related software.
- Experience managing marketing budgets and prioritising projects with high impact.
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
Nice to Have
- Experience within the Financial Services sector.
- Familiarity with unionized or political stakeholder environments.
- Strong print media design knowledge (brochures, catalogues, corporate stationery, etc.).
- Passion for using technology to drive marketing performance.
