The Strangers Club is a cafe and retail space housed in an heritage farmstead in Greenpoint, Cape Town.

About the Role

We're looking for a Head of Kitchen to oversee the kitchen operations of our busy, growing restaurant.

This would be a full time position with the responsibility of maintaining strict quality control, managing and supporting the kitchen team, and working with the founder to keep the food offering seasonal and dynamic.

Key responsibilities
  • Oversee daily kitchen operations and ensure smooth service.
  • Maintain strict quality control over all dishes served.
  • Lead and manage the kitchen team.
  • Develop and implement creative ideas for menu items.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with suppliers.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Support cost control by minimizing waste and managing resources effectively.

Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Head of Kitchen or in a senior chef role.
