A global online brokerage firm seeks an experienced Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead technology operations. This senior executive will develop and execute the technology strategy, manage call centre technology, and oversee compliance and security. Candidates must have 8–12+ years in senior roles with a strong knowledge of CRM, API integrations, and cybersecurity. The position is hybrid, based in Johannesburg, offering a cost to company of up to R1.2 million per annum, negotiable based on experience.

Job description

A global online brokerage focused on empowering individuals to trade financial markets like Forex, Indices, Shares, and Commodities, emphasizing a secure, reliable platform, top-tier technology (like MetaTrader 5), and client success, particularly with a focus on sub-Saharan Africa, is in search of an experienced and highly strategic Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead and scale all technology operations across the business. This senior executive role is responsible for the full technology stack supporting trading infrastructure, client onboarding funnels, CRM systems, call centre operations, operational tooling, integrations, cybersecurity, and the overall technological direction of the company.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute the overall technology strategy aligned with business goals.
  • Lead architecture decisions, system design, and long-term scalability planning.
  • Serve as a critical advisor to the CEO, COO, CCO, and executive team.
  • Drive a culture of innovation, operational excellence, security, and reliability.
  • Manage the full call centre technology suite, including dialers (VoIP / SIP), softphone systems, call recording & QA platforms, real-time dashboards, CRM integration with call flows, and agent performance tracking tools.
  • Ensure system reliability, compliance, and seamless integration with sales processes.
  • Oversee integration, configuration, and optimisation of CRM systems.
  • Ensure accurate lead flow, affiliate attribution, tracking pixels, and funnels.
  • Direct development and maintenance of the client portal (deposits, withdrawals, verification, account management).
  • Ensure KYC, AML, and compliance workflows function correctly and securely.
  • Oversee websites, landing pages, APIs, integrations, and cloud systems.
  • Ensure high availability, digital security, and optimal performance globally.
  • Collaborate with Compliance to meet regulatory obligations (FSCA, AML, POPIA / GDPR).
  • Lead, mentor, and build high-performing technology, development, and infrastructure teams.
Qualifications and Experience
  • 8–12+ years in senior technology roles (CTO, VP Engineering, Head of Technology, or equivalent).
  • Deep understanding of CRM systems and API integrations, call centre telephony technology, cloud hosting and server infrastructure, cybersecurity best practices, trading environment latency / performance optimisation, and data engineering and reporting.
  • Proven ability to lead multi-disciplinary technical teams (developers, IT, QA, support).
  • Strong cross-departmental collaboration with Sales, Compliance, and Risk teams.
  • Strategic planning and execution experience at a C-Suite level.
  • Forex / CFD, Fintech, Call Centre, or Online Trading environments.

The Reference Number for this position is NG60943 which is a Permanent Hybrid position based in Johannesburg offering a cost to company of up to R1.2mil per annum negotiable on experience and ability.
