Job description

As the Head of IT, you will be responsible for developing an information technology functional operating model and framework in a broadly defined group functional strategy, enabling horizontal alignment, implementation and adoption.

Key Responsibilities
Accountable for strategy implementation through the integration and optimization of operational activities to practices and systems across an internal value chain.
Plan for the management of work outputs across various functional activities, integrating interdependent practices, processes or systems and addressing and balancing the demands of different priorities to optimize efficiency.
Advise on and oversee the implementation of security measures to safeguard information in computer files against accidental or unauthorized damage, modification or disclosure.
Develop a plan for multi-practice changes, specify the priorities of delivery plans and resources needed.

Drive a culture of continuous improvement in the function / division.
Plan for and oversee the effective implementation of IT governance and information security performance and compliance measurement.
Build strong customer‑centric relationships and develop service level agreements that promote the organization with stakeholders aligned to Treating the Customer Fairly (TCF) principle.
Compile an operational or business area budget aligned with the delivery plans, and ensure the implementation and monitoring of financial controls, management of costs and corporate governance to optimize cost savings and/or profit margins.

Implement the governance management model, framework and policy in own practice and/or tactical areas to identify and manage governance and risk exposure liability proactively.

Minimum Experience
8-10 years' experience in a technology/financial environment or role, of which 3-4 years at senior management level.
Experience in building financial models and trading systems, specifically with Murex and Alchemy.
Strong background in quantitative software development.
Knowledge of capital and financial markets as well as financial derivatives.
Asset management experience is a plus.

Qualifications
Bachelor's Degrees and Advanced Diplomas (NQF Level 07) in Information Technology and Computer Sciences, but not essential.
