What you'll do

• Oversee all financial activities at Root, establishing solid financial frameworks and practices that empower the Root team and optimise our resources.
• Ensure financial accuracy and reliability as the foundation for insight generation.
• Recognise patterns and trends in Root's performance and in the market, distilling these into clear, actionable insights and recommendations for the leadership team.
• Act as a strategic partner to the business, proactively advising on opportunities, risks, and trade‑offs that influence Root's growth and long‑term success.

Qualifications

• CA(SA) with 10+ years post‑University working experience, including as a Senior Financial Manager.
• Experience with SaaS accounting and financial standards.
• Technology startup background preferable.
• Experience working with senior leadership as a strategic partner and advisor, not just as a financial controller.
