Placements24 is seeking an experienced Lead English Language Arts Teacher for a Vereeniging campus in Gauteng. This leadership role oversees the English department and mentors staff to elevate literacy and language proficiency.

The successful candidate will design a robust curriculum, deliver engaging lessons, lead professional development, and collaborate with parents to support student outcomes. A passion for literature and a track record of school-improvement are essential.

Qualifications

• Master's degree required in English, literature, education, or related field.
• Qualified to lead and mentor English teachers and drive curriculum.
• Minimum 7 years teaching English Language Arts at secondary level with at least 2 years in leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the English Language Arts department with high teaching standards.
• Develop and evaluate a comprehensive English curriculum for secondary students.
• Deliver engaging lessons in literature, writing, grammar, and rhetoric.
• Mentor teachers and provide professional development.
• Assess student progress and provide timely feedback for the Vereeniging campus.
• Foster an inclusive classroom and oversee resources and technology integration.
• Organize extracurricular activities like debating clubs and writing workshops.
• Engage with parents and the school community on progress and initiatives.
