Role Overview
Head Of Engineering and Facilities A luxury hospitality group renowned for sophisticated escapes and unique guest experiences is offering an exciting opportunity for a dynamic, solutions-driven individual. Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain all areas related to maintenance to support effective hotel operations
- Plan, supervise, and execute maintenance and service schedules for equipment and fleet vehicles
- Coordinate closely with Hotel Managers, the Group Operational Manager, and Department Heads to resolve maintenance requests promptly with proper documentation and feedback
- Develop and implement a preventative maintenance program aligned with safety legislation, warranties, and industry best practices
- Ensure safe and secure usage of all equipment
- Lead, train, and develop the maintenance team to enhance required technical skills
- Oversee timely repair and reinstatement of malfunctioning equipment
- Maintain adequate stock levels of frequently used equipment and supplies
- Keep accurate records for inspections, stock control, and purchasing
- Source competitive quotes from reliable suppliers and establish a network of approved service providers
- Prepare annual maintenance budgets, including procurement of machinery and capital expenditure planning
- Enforce and uphold health and safety standards consistently across all sites
Required Experience and Skills
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a Facilities or Maintenance Manager role
- Experience in hotel or property maintenance preferred
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Demonstrated ability in planning, process execution, and service delivery
- Experience in CAPEX and operational budgeting
- Proven track record in preventative maintenance planning and implementation
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality; ability to drive innovation and results
- Skilled in cross-functional teamwork and building high-performing teams
- Experience managing large teams
Minimum Requirements
- Matric certificate
- Tertiary qualification in Facilities, Maintenance, Engineering, or a related field is beneficial
- Valid drivers license
