Job summary

A luxury safari lodge in North West seeks a talented Head Chef or Sous Chef to manage a kitchen team and create exceptional dining experiences. The ideal candidate has proven leadership and culinary skills, along with experience in high-end hospitality. Salary ranges from R12,000 to R28,000 per month, depending on experience. This role requires flexible hours including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Head Chef or Sous Chef in a luxury lodge hotel or high-end restaurant.
  • Strong leadership, organisational and team management skills.
  • Exceptional culinary skills with attention to detail and presentation.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and kitchen best practices.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and public holidays.
  • Passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional guest experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the kitchen team ensuring efficient operations and high-quality food preparation.
  • Plan, prepare and present menus in line with lodge standards and guest expectations.
  • Maintain consistent quality presentation and portion control for all dishes served.
  • Ensure adherence to health, safety and hygiene standards within the kitchen.
  • Manage kitchen inventory, stock control and supplier relationships.
  • Train and mentor kitchen staff fostering a positive working environment.
  • Collaborate with lodge management to maintain operational efficiency and guest satisfaction.
  • Innovate and develop new menu items reflecting the lodge's luxury positioning.

Kendrick Recruitment is seeking a talented and experienced Head Chef or Sous Chef to join a luxury safari lodge in the North West. This role is ideal for a culinary professional with a passion for creating exceptional dining experiences in a high-end hospitality environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the kitchen team ensuring efficient operations and high-quality food preparation.
  • Plan prepare and present menus in line with lodge standards and guest expectations.
