Job summary

A luxury lodge in St Lucia, KwaZulu-Natal is seeking an experienced Head Chef. This live-in position offers a salary between R18,000 and R23,000, depending on experience. Responsibilities include overseeing kitchen operations, managing the team, and maintaining culinary excellence. Ideal candidates will have strong leadership skills and a formal culinary qualification.

Qualifications

Head Chef Luxury Lodge St Lucia KZN

Kendrick Recruitment is seeking an experienced and creative Head Chef to lead the kitchen team at a luxury lodge based in St Lucia KwaZulu-Natal . This is a live-in position offering an excellent opportunity for a talented culinary professional with a passion for fine dining and hospitality excellence.

Package :

Salary : R18000 R23000 (Negotiable depending on experience)

Live-in position

Requirements :

Minimum of 35 years experience in a similar Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef role within a luxury lodge or fine dining environment

Formal culinary qualification preferred

Strong leadership and management abilities with the ability to train and motivate a team

Excellent menu planning and stock control skills

Passion for creative high-quality cuisine with attention to presentation and guest satisfaction

Ability to work under pressure and maintain high standards at all times

Responsibilities :

Oversee all kitchen operations ensuring consistent delivery of exceptional meals

Manage and train the kitchen team to maintain high levels of culinary excellence

Plan and execute menus in line with the lodges standards and guest preferences

Ensure cost control portion management and adherence to hygiene and safety regulations

Collaborate closely with lodge management to enhance the overall guest dining experience
