Job summary

Bright Placements is seeking a hands-on Lodge Maintenance Manager to oversee maintenance, repairs and upkeep of a remote safari lodge, staff facilities, guest areas and infrastructure. You will lead maintenance staff and contractors to ensure safety, reliability and presentation.

This role requires practical technical knowledge, problem-solving, budgeting support and the ability to plan preventive programmes while minimising guest disruption.

Qualifications

• Relevant technical qualification or trade certification preferred.
• 3–5 years' experience in maintenance or technical management.
• Experience in luxury lodge/hospitality environment preferred.
• Proven experience managing maintenance teams and contractors.
• Strong practical knowledge of building and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all maintenance operations across the lodge and facilities.
• Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas and infrastructure.
• Identify maintenance needs and prioritise repairs by urgency.
• Manage preventative and reactive maintenance programmes.
• Ensure facilities and systems are safe, reliable and well presented.
• Supervise maintenance staff and allocate daily duties.
• Coordinate external contractors and service providers as needed.
• Maintain records of maintenance work and servicing.
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting for maintenance requirements.
• Work with Lodge Manager to resolve operational issues.
