Placements24 seeks a proactive Chemical Plant Engineer for our Polokwane facility to maintain and improve the efficiency, safety, and reliability of plant equipment and processes. This hands-on role collaborates with operations and maintenance teams to troubleshoot issues and implement modifications.

Requirements include a Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering with a chemical focus and 3–5 years in a chemical/industrial setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering with a chemical focus.
• Strong understanding of process equipment, piping, instrumentation, and control systems.
• Familiarity with safety procedures and maintenance best practices.

Responsibilities

• Oversee operation and maintenance of chemical plant equipment, ensuring optimal performance and minimal downtime.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and process issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective repair solutions.
• Implement process improvements and equipment upgrades to enhance efficiency, safety, and product quality.
• Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.
• Develop and maintain P&IDs, equipment specifications, and operational manuals.
• Participate in HAZOP studies and risk assessment activities for plant modifications.
