Job summary

A reputable charitable organisation is seeking a Fundraiser & Communications Officer to develop marketing initiatives and run fundraising campaigns. Job description

A reputable charitable organisation dedicated to giving children from underprivileged communities the same opportunities their donors had growing up, is looking for a Fundraiser & Communications Officer to join their team.

This is a permanent opportunity to work half-day in office from 8am - 12pm with occasional evening or weekend functions to attend from time to time.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement marketing and PR initiatives to raise the Trust's profile
  • Design engaging fundraising materials (leaflets, flyers, online content) using Canva or similar software
  • Create, organise, and run fundraising events and campaigns
  • Build relationships with potential donors and maintain donor databases
  • Explore new and creative ways to engage donors
  • Provide donors with the necessary tools, resources, and support to maximise fundraising
  • Manage and grow the organisation's social media presence
  • Share regular updates with donors and stakeholders
  • Support the administrator with the day-to-day management of the organisation
Requirements
  • Grade 12 with a relevant Diploma or Degree
  • 5 years' working experience in a Fundraiser, Marketing or PR role
  • Strong communication skills in both English and Afrikaans
  • Project or event planning skills with excellent time management abilities
  • Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite including Dropbox and Canva (or similar software) experienced
  • Photography or Graphic design skills beneficial
  • Problem solving skills – practical, proactive and able to use your initiative
  • Fundraising skills – responsible for delivering growth across the Trust, ensuring donors receive the best possible supporter journey and acquiring new donors to drive awareness and growth

  • Able to remain positive and resilient when facing rejection
