Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years’ Big 5 guiding experience.
  • Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and radio communication.

  • Conduct guided game drives and bush walks while ensuring guest safety.
  • Interact with guests to ensure memorable safari experiences.

Job description
Guide Requirements
  • Valid South African Guide’s Licence and PDP
  • FGASA NQF 4 with Backup Trails (Lead Trails beneficial)
  • Minimum of 3 years’ Big 5 guiding experience
  • Valid First Aid certificate (trauma care)
  • Strong communication, hosting, and interpersonal skills
  • Outgoing, professional, and guest-focused attitude
  • Self-disciplined, punctual, and a strong team player
  • Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and radio communication
Guide Responsibilities
  • Conduct guided game drives, bush walks, and other wildlife activities while ensuring guest safety at all times
  • Share in-depth knowledge of wildlife, flora, birdlife, and conservation practices
  • Interact professionally with guests, ensuring memorable safari experiences
  • Host guests during meals and sundowners
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of vehicles and equipment
  • Ensure compliance with game driving and rifle handling protocols
  • Provide emergency response when necessary, following company procedures
  • Assist with general camp duties such as transfers, guest luggage, and maintenance support
Front of House (FOH) Requirements
  • Previous experience in hospitality, preferably as a waiter or restaurant floor manager
  • Strong guest relations and service skills
  • Hard-working and eager to learn
  • Knowledge of food, wine, and beverage service
  • Understanding of menu items, ingredients, and preparation methods
  • Basic stock control and rotation knowledge
Front of House (FOH) Responsibilities
  • Ensure tables are correctly set with linen, silverware, and glassware
  • Greet and attend to guests, ensuring a seamless dining experience
  • Maintain strong communication between the kitchen and service staff
  • Possess full menu knowledge and assist guests with recommendations
  • Clear tables efficiently and maintain a clean, organised dining area
  • Uphold high standards of hygiene and presentation
