A local guesthouse in Pretoria is seeking a full-time employee for reception and administration duties. The role involves assisting guests with check-ins, handling inquiries, maintaining the property, and supporting housekeeping. Candidates must have work experience and a driver's licence, and should live nearby. This position requires working on weekends and public holidays as needed.
The prospective employee will be required to assist with the following duties daily: Reception / Administration, daily check-in and checkouts of Guests, maintaining a positive attitude and friendly demeanor to guests and fellow staff members, responding to all guest-related emails or phone calls in a friendly and professional manner, keeping a record of all POS slips and customer invoices for handover to Accounting staff.
Printing of Welcome letters. Interact with guests and ask how they stayed and whether they will rate us on the platforms.
Keeping the workplace and guesthouse neat and presentable, keeping the nightsbridge up to date in regard to cancellations and room changes, corresponding with guests on and making sure all messages are responded to the same day, assisting with administrative and clerical tasks, keeping the stock list up to date, being available for late and early check‑ins, inspecting the whole property and reporting to management regarding any upkeep or maintenance issues, ensuring the generator is full and ready for load shedding, creating an order list for stock or other products needed for the guest house and obtaining quotes.
Reporting: filing slips, maintenance and staff reporting, maintaining a complete filing system to support financial records. Housekeeping: general. Take responsibility for the general upkeep of the office area and company assets (i.e., fax, photocopier, etc.). Filing: assist and resolve queries with regards to messages and client relations; building positive professional relationships with guests, providing help to clients.
The prospective employee’s employment may be terminated by the employer in the event of incapacity, misconduct, or the employer’s operational requirements, as set out in the contract of employment.
The employee shall be required to work the number of hours required to successfully and competently execute her duties and responsibilities.
Hours of work shall be from 07h 00.
Will be required to work over weekends and public holidays as per roster. Inspect guest rooms, ensure all mini‑bars are working and stocked daily, make sure TVs (DSTV) are working, assist housekeepers on a daily basis or when there is a lack of staff, complete daily filing to enable easy access of documents and files for relevant companies, solve client issues and handle complaints from clients in a friendly and helpful manner, make breakfasts for guests. Due to the nature of the employer’s operation, the employee shall be required to work at night and on various weekends as and when previously arranged.
The employee will be given time off in lieu of overtime worked. MUST HAVE WORK EXPERIENCE. MUST HAVE DRIVERS LICENCE. MUST LIVE CLOSEBY. Job type: Full‑time. Pay: R,00 per day. Work location: In person.
