Overview

Our client, an established group of companies within the financial sector, is seeking to hire a highly skilled and experienced Human Resources Manager to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional with strong human resources experience to grow their career within a reputable organisation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement policies, programs and services that support the attainment of corporate and employee goals, balancing the needs of employees and the company within the South African legislative framework.
  • Assist with the implementation of the HR Strategy to strengthen the Group Culture and retain talent through benchmarking, career development and effective recruitment.
  • Draft, review, update and administer company policies and procedures to support the group strategy and ensure legal compliance with relevant legislation.
  • Guide, enable and manage the HR team to provide HR administration and transactional support to the Group, including payroll inputs, employment equity activities, compilation of monthly and quarterly HR reports, and general administrative support.
  • Maintain an up‑to‑date leave record system and ensure adherence to HR policies and procedures.
  • Conduct annual remuneration benchmarking for all employees and liaise with management regarding deviations from the benchmark.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain recruitment and selection practices that ensure the appointment of the best possible staff in line with Group policies and legislation.
  • Assist management with job descriptions, grading and benchmarking activities, interview processes, internal transfers and promotions, employee onboarding, induction and termination, workforce planning and probation management.
  • Coordinate and maintain the Performance Management process, ensuring KPA and KPI alignment with Job Descriptions, providing performance management reports, and incorporating outcomes into Individual Development Plans.
  • Perform annual skills gap analysis; develop and implement a skills plan based on the gap analysis; assist with probation management, preparation of Individual Development Plans, and Management Development activities.
  • Administer bursary schemes, graduate programmes and learnerships; compile and submit regulatory Skills Development plans, Annual Training Reports, progress and feedback reports, and liaise with Inseta and Fasset. Obtain and manage all grant funding processes.
  • Support the development, implementation, and review of succession plans and manage these plans in line with Individual Development Plans.
  • Manage employee relations, including disciplinary matters, grievances, performance management, restructuring and retrenchments, and CCMA dealings.
  • Lead the Group's Employment Equity strategy, ensuring compliance with policy and legislation, implementing strategies to overcome barriers, and liaising with representative bodies, management, and the Department of Labour.
  • Compile and submit necessary reports to demonstrate legislative compliance and employment equity.
  • Ensure compliance with legislation covering Basic Conditions of Employment, Employment Equity, Skills Development, and Occupational Health and Safety.
  • Act as a Skills Development facilitator and conduct associated responsibilities, including WSP, ATR, and liaison with Seta’s.
  • Create a safe and trustworthy environment for employees to share concerns, providing first‑level counselling and support.
  • Implement and maintain an HR system to support management and the HR function.
Qualifications
  • Formal Education: Relevant Tertiary Degree.
  • Experience: At least 8‑10 years post‑qualification HR management experience.
