- Angie-1A well-established financial services group is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Group Finance Manager to oversee the full financial management and compliance function across multiple entities.
This role is ideal for a technically strong Chartered Accountant who thrives in a dynamic environment, enjoys managing teams, and ensures excellence in financial governance, reporting, and regulatory adherence.
Duties & Responsibilities
The successful candidate will take ownership of group-wide financial reporting, audit coordination, statutory and regulatory submissions (SARS, NCR, FSCA, FIC, CIPC), as well as cashflow management, business analytics, and the implementation of robust financial controls.
- Oversee the finance functions of 9 group entities, including full accounting processes up to Annual Financial Statements.
- Lead annual audits, ensuring timely completion and accurate group consolidations.
- Review monthly management accounts, journals, general ledgers, cashbooks, and payroll submissions.
- Manage cashflows, funding requirements, and relationships with banks, ensuring financial sustainability and covenant compliance.
- Oversee tax and statutory submissions, including Income Tax, Provisional Tax, VAT, DWT, and CIPC filings.
- Ensure full compliance with regulatory bodies such as the NCR, FSCA, and FIC, and maintain timely submission of required returns.
- Implement and refine financial policies, procedures, and workflows to streamline operations and reduce manual processes.
- Manage and develop a finance team of 15 employees, including performance management, training, and succession planning.
- Oversee payroll, third-party collections, disbursements, and insurance reporting (bordereaux and quarterly submissions).
Key Responsibilities
Provide analytical and strategic insights through business reporting and data-driven decision support.
Support special projects and ad hoc requests from senior management and external stakeholders.
Qualifications & Experience
- BCom (Hons) in Accounting / Equivalent degree or diploma (essential)
- Registered Chartered Accountant (SA)
- Minimum 5 years' post-articles experience in a senior group finance or financial management role
- Proficiency in Sage Intacct Accounting and Pastel Payroll & HR
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, SharePoint, Teams, Outlook)
- Experience with group consolidations, audit management, and multi-entity reporting
- Sound understanding of the Companies Act, Income Tax Act, VAT Act, National Credit Act, and Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services (FAIS) Act
