Job description

As a Finance Associate, you will be responsible for providing support to the finance team in areas such as financial analysis, reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.

Your role involves analyzing financial data, preparing reports, and assisting with day‑to‑day financial operations to ensure the financial health and stability of the organization.

You will report directly to the Group Financial Manager.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
  • Prepare month‑end reports for management review.
  • Supervise all financial accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
  • Monitor and analyze financial trends, variances, and key performance indicators.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts.
  • Review and reconcile financial data, transactions, and accounts.
  • Assist in month‑end and year‑end closing activities.
  • Prepare journal entries and maintain general ledger accounts.
  • Assist in the preparation of tax returns, audits, and compliance filings.
  • Support the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams on special projects and initiatives.
  • Provide support to the Group Financial Manager and senior leadership as needed.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and best practices in finance.
  • Perform ad‑hoc financial analysis and reporting as requested.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree / Diploma in finance, accounting, or related field.
  • 3-5 years' experience in finance, accounting, or related role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial software.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Solid understanding of financial principles, concepts, and practices.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with financial reporting standards and regulations.

Remuneration & Benefits
  • Basic Salary: R (negotiable dependent on experience).
