Group Accountant

Our client is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented Group Accountant to strengthen a small, high-performing finance team.

Important notes about the position:

  1. This is an in office position based in De Waterkant, Cape Town.
  1. This is a full-time, permanent position.
  2. Salary offered: Market related and dependent on experience, negotiable for the ideal candidate.

The ideal candidate has a solid grounding in accounting principles and financial processes, is comfortable owning deadlines, and can switch smoothly between independent work and collaboration. This role suits someone ~1–2 years post-articles (or with equivalent experience) who’s ready for a dynamic, hands‑on environment.

Key responsibilities
  • Debt & Treasury Support: Maintain intercompany loan schedules, calculate and reconcile interest, and prepare external debt calculations, payments, and statements.
  • Entity Accounting: Process transactions and payments for group entities, ensuring accurate, up-to-date records and clean intercompany reconciliations.
  • Financial Operations: Assist with payment runs and approvals; support month-end close (journals, reconciliations, working papers).
  • Audit & Reporting: Prepare audit deliverables and support the compilation of annual financial statements and related disclosures.
Qualifications & experience
  • CA(SA) or Bachelor of Accounting Sciences / Postgraduate Diploma in Applied Accounting Sciences / SAIPA.
  • Preferably ≥1 year post-articles if CA; experience in a similar accounting/finance role advantageous.
  • Strong Excel proficiency and confidence with accounting systems.
