About the Role

The Group Accountant will take responsibility for general day‑to‑day accounting functions across several entities, supporting compliance requirements, reconciliations, disclosures, fixed‑asset management and statutory submissions. The role will also include mentoring junior team members and ensuring high standards of accuracy and organisation within the finance function.

A February 2026 start is ideal; however, an earlier start date would be welcomed where possible.

Key Requirements
  • SAIPA-registered Professional Accountant
  • Post-articles experience preferred
  • Experience with SARS statutory submissions
  • Solid VAT knowledge, including applications and reconciliations
  • Understanding of statutory obligations including CIPC and Department of Labour submissions
  • Ideally based near Cape Town CBD for ease of commute
  • Experience with Google Workspace and Xero is advantageous
  • Strong organisational, time management and analytical skills
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate effectively within a team
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Core Responsibilities
  • Performing day‑to‑day accounting functions across multiple group entities
  • Managing compliance requirements and preparing statutory submissions
  • Handling VAT applications, calculations and reconciliations
  • Maintaining fixed asset registers
  • Supporting disclosures and reporting requirements
  • Assisting with general reconciliations and financial controls
  • Providing support and guidance to junior finance staff
  • Ensuring accuracy, timeliness and adherence to deadlines
Package & Benefits
  • Salary range: R35 000 - R50 000, depending on experience
  • Compulsory Group Scheme: 2% of CTC towards a risk policy and pension fund
  • Employee pension fund contribution options: 3%, 8% or 13%
  • Predominantly in‑office role with the possibility of one remote day per week, depending on performance and experience
