Description/Synopsis

This exceptionally successful and continually growing organisation, based in Cape Town CBD, is seeking a detail-oriented and driven Group Accountant to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be a SAIPA Registered Professional Accountant with a strong accounting background, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced, demanding environment.

Minimum Requirements
  • SAIPA Registered Professional Accountant
  • Post-articles experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of Tax/ SARS statutory submissions
  • Experience with VAT applications and reconciliations
  • Understanding of other statutory obligations, including CIPC and Department of Labour (DoL) functions and declarations
  • Proficiency in Google Sheets and Xero Accounting Software will be advantageous
Main Responsibilities
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for multiple entities.
  • Perform general ledger maintenance and account reconciliations.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, including SARS, VAT, CIPC, and DoL submissions.
  • Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations across group entities.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Support the Group Financial Manager and finance team with daily accounting operations.
  • Oversee accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments.
  • Generate sales orders and tax invoices, balance customer statements, and manage Sage/Xero records.
  • Reconcile weighbridge reports and transport PODs, and maintain accurate trade sheets.
  • Monitor cash flow and assist with draw requests and financial facility management.
  • Prepare for audits and liaise with external auditors.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and documentation.
  • Provide guidance to junior team members, if applicable.
  • Communicate with internal teams and external parties regarding financial and operational matters.
