Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a talented Junior Graphic Designer Apprentice in Mahikeng, North West. You will work with experienced designers on logos, branding materials, and digital assets, gaining hands-on experience with industry-standard tools in a hybrid setup.

The role emphasizes learning, mentorship, and growing a strong design portfolio, with exposure to client projects and branding across diverse media.

Qualifications

• Matriculation certificate or equivalent.
• Diploma or Degree in Graphic Design or Visual Arts, or a strong portfolio.
• Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
• Strong understanding of typography, color theory, and layout.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Based in or near Mahikeng, or willing to commute.

Responsibilities

• Assist in creating visual concepts from brief to final output.
• Design logos, brochures, social graphics, website elements and other marketing materials.
• Adapt designs to meet new specifications or platforms.
• Collaborate with senior designers and account managers to understand project requirements and client needs.
• Prepare final artwork files for print and digital production.
• Learn and utilize design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
• Maintain brand consistency across all client projects.
• Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute creative ideas.
• Assist with image sourcing, editing, and retouching.
• Keep up-to-date with design trends and best practices.
