Job summary

A leading agricultural services company in Cape Town is seeking a skilled professional to manage the silo complex. You will ensure safe and profitable operations, oversee grain quality and inventory, and maintain compliance with policies. Ideal candidates will have a Grade 12 and Grain Grader certification with at least 10 years of relevant experience. This role requires strong communication and leadership skills, and the ability to build client relationships. Competitive salary and benefits offered.

Qualifications

  • In possession of all grading and fumigating certificates.
  • 10 years operational experience in handling and storage of grain.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure effective marketing of available grain and silo services.
  • Oversee daily reconciliation of grain stock.
  • Ensure correct blending of grain in line with quality specifications.
  • Ensure regular calibration of grading equipment.
  • Monitor monthly income and expenses.
  • Conduct regular inspections of fixed assets.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients.
  • Manage capacity planning and bin allocation.
  • Utilize storage facility effectively.
  • Manage grain dispatch rate and recommend improvements.
  • Identify new opportunities at silo/bunker.
  • Ensure compliance with AFGRI policies.
  • Maintain a safe working environment.
  • Accurately capture and reconcile reports.
  • Recruit and manage competent employees.
