Placements24 is seeking a Graduate Software Developer with a backend focus for a fully remote role, based from Stellenbosch. You will design, build, and maintain robust backend systems, APIs, and databases for modern applications while collaborating with cross-functional teams in a dynamic tech environment.

The ideal candidate recently graduated in Computer Science or Software Engineering and has hands-on experience with backend languages, RESTful APIs, and both SQL/NoSQL databases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• Strong understanding of backend development principles and data structures.
• Proficiency in at least one backend language (Python, Java, C#, Node.js).
• Experience with RESTful API design and development.
• Familiarity with relational (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and/or NoSQL (MongoDB) databases.
• Knowledge of version control, preferably Git.
• Understanding of SDLC and agile methodologies.
• Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
