Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Food Safety Leadership: Be the guardian of food safety, quality, and compliance ensuring robust systems that inspire consumer trust.
- Audit & Compliance Management: Lead all external and customer audits, drive corrective actions, and keep systems aligned with changing standards.
- Customer Engagement: Act as the technical contact point for customers and auditors. Strengthen relationships by providing solutions and consistency.
- Continuous Improvement: Partner with Production and NPD to resolve issues, reduce conflict, and align technical standards with operational realities.
- Complaint Management: Investigate and close out complaints within agreed timelines, ensuring root causes are addressed.
- Positive Release: Authorize release of conforming products and champion zero non-conformance.
Experience and Qualifications
- Degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or related discipline.
- Advanced training in Food Safety Systems (HACCP, FSSC, SQMS, etc.).
- Minimum 5 years experience in a factory QA environment, with a proven track record.
- At least 5 years in a management role with exposure to complex food manufacturing.

Job Description
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Ensuring that the company is following all food safety requirements, local and international legislation and customer specific requirements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintaining the supplier food safety database (food safety audits, assessments, etc.)
- Stays engaged with food safety best practices to support supplier food safety programs
- Ensure that the correct product specifications, for products being produced, are available.
- Ensure all NCRs are closed off and captured
- Assist in the Food Safety System (FSSC and updating documents and procedures to adhere to legislation and regulation.
- Assist in obtaining relevant information from suppliers to update specifications accordingly and perform risk-based assessments.
- Checking that all factory records are completed correctly, accurately and the most current version is used
- General administrative duties which includes but is not limited to supplier questionnaires, updating of final product specifications, filing, etc.
- You may from time to time be required to perform ad hoc tasks or as operational requirements demand.
REQUIRED MINIMUM EDUCATION & WORK EXPERIENCE
- 2 years technical experience working for a food manufacturer in the food safety department
- Knowledge of relevant food safety requirements and implementation there of
- Previous experience in the spice industry will be advantageous
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, accurate and precise with demonstrable attention to detail.
- IT Literate in Microsoft applications.
- A strong self-starter, self-motivated with a flexible and adaptable working approach

- Bachelor's degree in food science, Environmental Health, Biotechnology, Microbiology, or Business Administration.
- A postgraduate qualification in Sales Management, Business Development, or Quality Assurance is advantageous.
- Certification or working knowledge of ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, HACCP, and other food safety standards is highly desirable.
Experience
- Minimum 5–8 years of experience in sales leadership within the food safety, inspection, certification, or training industry.
- Proven track record in B2B sales, client acquisition, and account management in regulated environments.
- Experience working with retailers, food manufacturers, distribution centers, and hospitality sectors.
- Familiarity with auditing, compliance, and regulatory frameworks in food safety.
Skills
- Strong strategic sales planning and pipeline management skills.
- Excellent negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building abilities.
- Proficiency in CRM systems, sales analytics, and reporting tools.
