Job description
Introduction
  • Supporting the design, configuration, testing, and commissioning of electrical protection systems.
  • Assisting in the development, review, and implementation of protection schemes for power systems.
  • Contributing to fault analysis, system studies, and relay settings under supervision.
  • Ensuring compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
  • Supporting senior engineers in preparing technical documentation, reports, and drawings.
  • Participating in troubleshooting activities and site visits as required.
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Reviewing project documentation and technical specifications.
  • Assisting with the configuration and settings of protection relays and telecontrol devices.
  • Conducting basic protection system studies and simulations.
  • Supporting on-site commissioning and testing of protection equipment.
  • Attending team meetings and technical discussions.
  • Preparing and updating technical reports, drawings, and as-built documentation.
  • Learning from and collaborating with senior engineers to develop practical skills.
  • Assist with RMA Process- Factory Acceptance Testing of Protection and Telecontrol Schemes.
  • Support customers.
Desired Experience & Qualification
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering (B. Eng / B. Sc Eng Electrical) Preferred Qualifications : - Exposure to Protection and Telecontrol devices (GE, ABB, SEL, Schneider)- Coursework or internships related to power systems, high voltage engineering, or industrial networks.
  • Registration with ECSA as a candidate engineer is advantageous. Experience we look for- Function related experience : 0 to 2 years' experience.
  • Hands-on experience during academic projects, co-op programs, or graduate internships is desirable.
  • Computer literacy- Ability to adapt and learn reasonably fast.
  • Basic knowledge of communication protocols would be advantageous.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members and customers.

  • Ability to analyse complex problems, interpret operational needs and develop integrated solutions.
