Placements24 is seeking a motivated Graduate Civil Engineer intern to join their Soweto-based engineering team in Gauteng. The internship offers hands-on experience across design, planning, and project support under experienced engineers, with a focus on infrastructure development in the region.

You will assist with designs, site visits, basic calculations, data gathering for feasibility studies, and project reporting while learning software tools used in civil engineering design and analysis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Strong academic record with interest in civil infrastructure.
• Basic understanding of CAD software (AutoCAD) is advantageous.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior engineers in the preparation of civil engineering designs, drawings, and documentation.
• Conduct site visits and assist in monitoring construction activities under supervision.
• Perform basic engineering calculations for design tasks, such as earthworks and drainage.
• Gather and analyze data for feasibility studies and project planning.
• Support project management activities by maintaining records and assisting with reports.
• Learn and apply engineering software tools relevant to civil engineering design and analysis.
