An accounting firm in Gauteng is offering a fixed-term SAIPA training contract to kickstart your accounting career. You will gain hands-on experience in preparing management accounts, handling financial statements, and working alongside professionals in a supportive environment. Candidates must hold a BCom Accounting degree or be in their final year and demonstrate proficiency in Excel and accounting software. Competitive monthly compensation is offered.
Kickstart your accounting career with practical, hands‑on experience as you work toward your SAIPA qualification and develop the skills to become a Professional Accountant (SA).
You will work alongside experienced professionals, gaining exposure to all facets of accounting, taxation, and financial reporting; all within a supportive environment that prioritizes your professional growth and development.
Assisting in the preparation of monthly management accounts and annual financial statements.
Capturing and reconciling transactions using Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, or similar systems.
Performing bank, debtors, and creditors reconciliations.
Assisting with VAT, PAYE, and income tax calculations and submissions.
Supporting senior accountants with audit and review engagements.
Maintaining accurate and organized client files.
Communicating with clients to obtain supporting documents and resolve queries.
Contributing to year‑end and audit preparation.
Staying informed of changes in accounting and tax legislation relevant to SMEs.
You must have a BCom Accounting degree or equivalent (completed or in your final year) and an intention to register or be currently registered with SAIPA as a trainee accountant. You should also demonstrate: Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
Working knowledge of accounting software (Sage, Xero, or similar) is advantageous.
