SUMMARY:

Masa is currently looking for a Grader Machine Operator with a construction background to work for a client based in Tongaat (KZN).

POSITION INFO:

Minimum Requirements:

• Grade 10 (Matric advantageous)
• Valid Grader Operator Certificate/License
• 3–5 years' proven experience operating a grader machine in a construction or civil works environment
• Knowledge of construction and road-building techniques
• Understanding of slope, elevation, and grading principles
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Physically fit and able to work in harsh site conditions
• High attention to detail
• Responsible and safety-conscious
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate the grader machine to perform rough and fine grading on roads, earthworks, and construction sites
• Follow site plans, grade stakes, and instructions from supervisors
• Ensure proper setup and safe operation of the machine
• Perform daily inspections and routine maintenance of the grader (e.g., checking fluids, tire pressure, and blade condition)
• Identify and report mechanical faults to maintenance personnel
• Work in coordination with other equipment operators and construction crew members
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols and site regulations
• Keep accurate records of work completed and hours worked
• Assist with other site duties when required (e.g., flagging, compacting, minor hand labor)
