Job summary

Standard Bank Group seeks a dedicated Governance and Control Specialist for RES across all Risk Types. You will provide hands-on support to the RES Exco and Business Heads, acting as a bridge between central Risk and RES operations to mitigate risk and align with the 1st Line Governance Execution team.

The role requires a First Degree in a relevant discipline and 5–7 years' experience in risk, governance, compliance or control, with knowledge of building regulations and statutory compliance

Responsibilities

To serve as a dedicated Governance and Control Specialist for RES across all Risk Types, providing hands‑on support to the RES Exco and Business Heads (e.g., Commercial, Physical Security) for timely and accurate completion of Risk and Governance requirements. This role acts as a specialised bridge between central Risk functions and RES operations, facilitating actions to mitigate functional risk and aligning practices with the 1st Line Business Risk and Governance Execution team within RES.

Qualifications

• First Degree in Engineering, ConstructionManagement, Property Studies, Architecture, Facilities Management, Risk Management, LegalStudies or a related discipline.

Experience Required

• 5 to 7 years' experience within a risk, governance, compliance, or control environment related to:

• Strong knowledge of commercial building regulations and statutory compliance requirements.
• Demonstrated experience in governance frameworks, compliance assurance, and risk management.
