Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly organized Remote Transportation Planner to join a global logistics team, supporting operations across regions. This fully remote role focuses on efficient planning and execution of transportation movements, ensuring cost-effectiveness, timeliness, and regulatory compliance.

You will analyze needs, select carriers, optimize routes, and use TMS to track shipments. Strong analytical and negotiation skills are essential, along with experience in freight management

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain, or related field.
• Proven experience in transportation planning or freight management.
• Strong understanding of transport modes and route optimization.
• Experience with TMS and logistics software.

Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule inbound and outbound transportation movements, optimizing routes and modes of transport for efficiency and cost savings.
• Select and manage relationships with carriers, negotiating rates and service agreements to meet operational requirements.
• Utilize transportation management systems (TMS) to track shipments, monitor performance, and generate operational reports.
• Analyze transportation data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for process improvement.
• Ensure compliance with all transportation regulations, safety standards, and customs requirements.
