Overview
We are seeking a hands-on Technical Specialist to support a fast-growing international company from its Northern Suburbs head office. This is a high-impact, operational role designed for candidates with strong technical foundations, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for delivering a premium customer experience across a global network from Johannesburg to London, Dubai to New York. This role is not desk-bound; you will analyse product performance, troubleshoot complex technical cases, and collaborate with global teams to drive continuous improvement across systems, field operations, and installations.
Responsibilities
- Analyse product and system performance across global regions, identifying trends, failures, and anomalies.
- Produce technical reports, maintain dashboards, and validate field data.
- Escalate systemic or design-related issues to R&D and support root-cause investigations.
- Provide remote troubleshooting support and define corrective actions for complex technical issues.
- Translate field insights into actionable product improvement recommendations.
- Support testing and validation of engineering changes and system upgrades.
- Create and update MEP, layout, and site readiness drawings; define site requirements for water, electrical, drainage, and space.
- Maintain accurate documentation, CRM entries, and internal technical content.
- Provide technical support to Sales, Supply Chain, Marketing, and field teams.
- Ensure showroom and operational equipment is correctly configured and functional.
- Contribute to workflow optimisation, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- 5+ years’ experience in a technical engineering role (mechanical, electrical, mechatronics, automation, water treatment, or related).
- Strong diagnostic, troubleshooting, and system-level performance analysis skills.
- Practical experience with refurb/repair processes and component-level analysis.
- Experience creating or interpreting MEP, layout, and technical drawings.
- Familiarity with water treatment, filtration, pumping, or dosing systems is an advantage (or willingness to learn).
- Experience working with field service data, dashboards, and performance metrics.
- Strong computer literacy, including Excel, CRM systems, and technical documentation tools.
- Ability to interpret mechanical assemblies, wiring diagrams, plumbing, and electrical schematics.
- Relevant engineering degree or diploma preferred; additional technical certifications advantageous.
- Valid driver’s license for site visits.
- Understanding of compliance, certification testing, or quality assurance is beneficial.
