Placements24 in Durban is seeking a motivated Junior Civil Engineer with a keen interest in Geotechnical Engineering to join our client’s team. Based in our office, you’ll gain hands-on experience in site investigations, soil testing, and foundation design under the mentorship of senior geotechnical experts.

You’ll work on projects from initial surveys to construction support, collaborate with engineers, prepare reports, and develop practical skills in a structured training program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (geotechnical focus preferred).
• Strong academic background with demonstrated geotechnical interest.
• Familiarity with geotechnical software and testing procedures.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in teams.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites.

Responsibilities

• Assist geotechnical site investigations, including drilling and sampling.
• Perform laboratory testing and analysis of soil/rock samples.
• Contribute to foundation, retaining wall, and earthwork design.
• Prepare geotechnical investigation reports and recommendations.
• Provide construction support and monitor site conditions.
• Collaborate with senior engineers on geotechnical challenges.
