People Dimension in Sandton is looking for a Civil Engineer with a B Eng or BSc Eng and 1-3 years of relevant experience in geotechnical engineering. The role includes performing audits on tailings storage facilities, designing infrastructure, and conducting stability analyses.

Candidates should have proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and a solid understanding of soil mechanics. Strong skills in Microsoft Office and exposure to slope stability and FEM software are desirable.

Formación

• 1-3 years of relevant experience.
• Good fundamental understanding of soil mechanics.
• Post graduate experience in geotechnical engineering is advantageous.
• Experience in CPTu testing and geotechnical investigations is considered advantageous.

Responsabilidades

• Surveillance of tailings storage facilities and return water dams.
• Carrying out annual audit inspections on facilities.
• Design of new tailings storage facilities or infrastructure.
• Stability analysis of various facilities.
• Keep up with latest developments in the tailings industry.
