Overview

Minimum Requirements

A civil engineer with at least 1-4 years of experience with tailings and water dam design and associated lining systems.

At least with some knowledge of general engineering design project management, construction contract administration and construction site supervision.

Proficient in Word, Excel and Geo-Slope / Slide. Valid driver's license. Must be willing to travel.

Professionally registered with ECSA (PrEng) would be an advantage.

Responsibilities
  • Design of tailings and water dams, and related infrastructure.
  • Project engineering management.
  • Tender and contract documentation and administration.
  • Construction monitoring and management.
  • Site visits and audits.
  • General assistance with broader civil engineering activities (hydrology, water balances, structural).
  • Project engineering management and administration.
  • Scoping and management of geotechnical site investigations, mostly for mine waste facilities.
  • Assessment of field investigation (e.g., piezocone / CPTu) and laboratory testing data (e.g., triaxial tests).
  • Basic stability and seepage analyses.
