We are at a critical growth juncture, expanding our services and building high-performing teams for clients in multiple sectors. We combine innovative recruitment solutions with deep industry expertise to deliver exceptional results for our clients and communities.
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Generalist Recruitment Partner to join our team and lead full-cycle hiring for a wide range of roles. In this remote position, you will operate as a talent acquisition expert and partner to both our internal account manager and client hiring teams. The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of recruitment experience, including a combination of in-house (corporate) and agency recruiting exposure. You will initially focus on filling municipal sector roles across various departments – from Finance and Engineering to HR, to Public Works and more (Nonprofit and Food sectors) – while also building proactive talent pipelines for anticipated openings. This role requires working full-time on a Pacific Time (PST) schedule (8am–5pm PST) to effectively collaborate with candidates across multiple North American time zones. If you are a dynamic, performance-driven recruiting professional with exceptional communication skills and a passion for building relationships, we invite you to apply and grow with us.
Key Responsibilities
- Full-Cycle Recruitment : Manage the end-to-end recruiting lifecycle across a variety of open roles, helping hiring managers find, hire, and retain quality candidates in multiple departments (e.g. Finance, Public Works, IT, HR, etc.) for municipal and impact-sector and other clients in nonprofit and sustainability sectors. This includes drafting job postings, sourcing, screening, interviewing, and guiding candidates through offer and onboarding stages.
- Talent Sourcing & Pipeline Building : Proactively source candidates using LinkedIn Recruiter (RPS), job boards, networking, and creative channels. Anticipate future talent needs and develop pools of passive candidates to fill upcoming vacancies – we expect you to foster high-touch relationships and maintain a database of qualified candidates that we can tap into as new positions arise .
- Client & Stakeholder Partnership : Act as a trusted recruitment partner to account managers. Work closely with hiring managers (often via our internal Account Manager) to understand each department’s needs, define candidate “must-haves,” and advise on effective recruitment strategies . Provide regular updates on pipeline and progress, set realistic expectations on timelines, and ensure alignment between stakeholders throughout the hiring process.
- Candidate Experience Management : Deliver an exceptional candidate experience at every step. This includes timely communication, interview coordination, and guiding candidates through the process with professionalism and empathy. You will schedule and facilitate interviews (across various time zones), gather feedback, and act as the liaison between candidates and client decision-makers. Ensuring polite, respectful communication (e.g. feedback, rejections) is key to maintaining our reputation .
- Use of Recruitment Tools : Leverage our Applicant Tracking System (Zoho Recruit) and LinkedIn Recruiter to track applicant progress, manage candidate records, and collaborate with the team. You’ll utilize the ATS and LinkedIn Recruiter to manage candidate pipelines efficiently – including updating statuses, documenting interactions, and running searches. Being tech-savvy, you should be comfortable troubleshooting minor technical issues and figuring out new tools quickly.
- Market Research & Talent Insights : Conduct market research on talent availability, salary benchmarks, and industry trends in the sectors we serve (government, non-profit, sustainability and more). Use this data to inform clients and adjust sourcing strategies as needed. For example, you may analyze local labor market conditions for municipal roles or identify niche talent pools for specialized positions. Your ability to provide market-driven insights will help influence hiring strategies and set expectations with clients .
- Relationship Building : Cultivate strong relationships with both candidates and clients. Since “people management” in recruiting is about building trust, you will develop a robust network of potential candidates through proactive outreach, and ongoing relationship management . You take pride in acting as an advisor and advocate – ensuring candidates have a positive journey and clients see us as a valued partner.
- Process Improvement : Bring a process-oriented mindset to continually refine our recruiting workflows. Ensure all steps (from initial intake to reference checks) are executed with attention to detail and consistency. If you spot bottlenecks or opportunities to improve efficiency, proactively suggest and implement solutions. Our firm values innovation and quality in recruitment, so your ideas for streamlining processes or enhancing candidate outreach are welcome.
- Performance & Reporting : Drive recruitment results with a focus on quality and speed. Meet and exceed performance targets such as time-to-fill and placement success rate. Track key metrics and report on your activities and outcomes. Being driven by performance, you embrace goals and use data to monitor your progress. You will prepare regular reports or presentations for internal leadership to showcase recruiting results, pipeline health, and areas for improvement.
Requirements
- Experience & Domain Knowledge : 3–5 years of full-cycle recruiting experience, with a strong blend of internal corporate recruiting and agency / outside recruiting roles. Experience recruiting for multiple industries or departments is essential – you have successfully filled roles across different functions (e.g. technical, administrative, leadership and more) and can adapt quickly to new domains.
- Education : Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field is preferred (or equivalent work experience). Excellent academic background and professional training in recruitment / talent acquisition will be viewed favorably.
- Communication Skills : Exceptional English communication skills (written and verbal) are mandatory. You can engage credibly with North American candidates. Strong interpersonal skills are required to build rapport with diverse candidates and to collaborate with account managers. A confident, clear communicator and presenter is needed for this role – someone who can articulate opportunities convincingly and represent our firm professionally during client interactions and candidate interviews.
- Attention to Detail : Meticulous attention to detail in all aspects of work – from crafting accurate job descriptions to scheduling interviews and maintaining records. Attention to detail and strong interpersonal communication are identified as key qualities of an effective recruiter. You don’t let details slip through the cracks, and you ensure a high-quality experience for candidates (e.g. error‑free communications, thorough follow‑ups).
- Proactive & High‑Performance Approach : A self‑starter with a high sense of urgency, able to work in a fast‑paced environment and meet tight deadlines. You do not procrastinate or delay – instead, you take initiative to move searches forward, anticipate obstacles, and find solutions. The ideal candidate is results‑driven, motivated by successful placements and client satisfaction. You should thrive under performance metrics and continually push to exceed targets.
- Organizational Skills : Excellent organizational and time management abilities. You can juggle multiple open requisitions and projects simultaneously without losing track. Prioritization is key – you know how to focus on what matters most and independently manage competing priorities to deliver on hiring needs.
- Tech Savvy : Strong computer and technology skills. Experience using Applicant Tracking Systems (e.g. Zoho Recruit or similar) and LinkedIn Recruiter is required. You should be adept at using productivity tools (Microsoft Teams, Outlook, Excel, etc.) for collaboration and reporting. An aptitude for quickly learning new software and troubleshooting technical issues on your own is important, as we leverage various digital tools (VoIP calling systems, CRM, research tools) in our workflow. In this role, you will use strong technical knowledge to drive all aspects of recruitment and provide exceptional service to candidates.
- Sourcing & Networking Skills : Demonstrated expertise in advanced sourcing techniques. This includes Boolean searches, X‑ray searches, talent mapping, and leveraging social media platforms. You have a knack for finding and engaging passive talent – not just relying on job postings. Creative “ headhunting ” ability and persistence in outreach are key. Extensive experience with LinkedIn Recruiter (RPS) is expected, as well as familiarity with other sourcing channels. You consistently find innovative ways to hunt talent beyond routine tools – a true go‑getter who takes pride in unearthing the best candidates.
- Relationship‑Building : Natural ability to build relationships and network. You enjoy interacting with people and can establish trust with candidates at all levels. A people‑centric attitude is critical, since this role is about forging connections and guiding individuals through life‑changing career moves. You should be able to engage passive candidates and turn them into prospects, as well as nurture long‑term relationships for future opportunities. Empathy, active listening, and professionalism in all dealings are a must.
- Team Collaboration : Team player mindset with the ability to work independently. While much of your day‑to‑day work will be autonomous, you will collaborate closely with our Account Manager and the rest of the recruitment team. This means being open to feedback, sharing candidates or insights that could help others, and participating actively in team meetings / brainstorms. You should be willing to assist colleagues and contribute to a supportive, knowledge‑sharing culture.
- Presentation & Reporting : Strong presentation skills are needed to effectively present candidate profiles or search updates to internal stakeholders. You should be comfortable summarizing search progress, market findings, and candidate recommendations in a clear, persuasive manner – whether in writing or during meetings. Ability to create concise summaries or slide decks is a plus.
- Work Requirements : Must be able to work 8 : 00 AM – 5 : 00 PM Pacific Standard Time (PST) to align with our business hours and client needs. This role is remote (work‑from‑home), so a reliable high‑speed internet connection and a suitable home office environment are required. The candidate must have the discipline to maintain a consistent schedule and be readily available for calls or video meetings during working hours. Experience working across multiple time zones and coordinating virtually is highly desirable.
Preferred Qualifications (Bonus Points)
- Industry Experience : Prior recruiting experience in municipal / public sector, non‑profits / NGOs, sustainability, healthcare and other impact sectors will give you a head start in understanding our clients’ context. Familiarity with the specific challenges and roles in these sectors (e.g. public sector hiring processes, nonprofit salary structures, etc.) is an asset.
- Recruitment Certifications : Professional certifications or training in recruitment / talent acquisition (such as AIRS, SHRM‑CP / SCP with a TA specialty, etc.) are advantageous, signaling a commitment to your professional development. While not mandatory, such credentials can set you apart by validating your expertise in modern talent acquisition practices .
- Advanced Sourcing Tools : Experience with additional sourcing tools and platforms (e.g. GitHub for tech talent, academic networks, industry‑specific job boards, talent communities etc.) will be valuable. Knowledge of how to leverage AI or automation in sourcing, or any background in recruitment marketing, can help us broaden our reach to top talent.
- Process Improvement & Data Skills : If you have experience in recruitment process optimization or analytics – for instance, refining an ATS workflow, creating dashboards for KPIs, or implementing new recruitment technologies – we’d love to hear about it. An ability to analyze recruitment metrics (time‑to‑fill, source effectiveness, diversity metrics) and suggest improvements will be a plus.
