Education

CA(SA) or post graduate qualification in Finance or Law

Key Performance Areas (KPAs)
  • Business and Financial Results Management
  • Provide input into divisional capital budget and allocated departmental budgets to meet cost targets.
  • Monitor allocated budgets through monitoring and seeking cost effective ways of achieving departmental goals.
  • Provide though leadership and input with into the development of the divisional strategy to ensure that it is aligned with the organisational strategies and objectives.
Responsibilities
  • Ensure implementation of divisional strategy by meeting with senior management team regularly to discuss and set strategy and engaging with senior managers on an ongoing basis to keep abreast of progress and challenges and provide guidance and coaching.
  • Facilitate and regulate the listing of new and existing equity, interest rate and specialist security issuers by ensuring that documentation complies with requirements and by providing feedback and guidance until formal approval is granted.
  • Provide advice and guidance and make binding rulings on the application of the listings requirements by understanding the problem and the desired outcome and interacting with internal and external stakeholders to lead the problem-solving process.
  • Make far reaching decisions in the division every day that inform what companies can and cant do in order to protect the rights of minority shareholders and make transactions possible by facilitating discussions with senior members of team, considering all relevant information, debating, evaluating risk, consulting with relevant stakeholders (internal and external legal and Market Regulation Division) and making informed choices.
  • Ensure that listed companies report results timeously and complying with all other continuing obligations and responding to reported exceptions by deciding on the appropriate action.
  • Assist Director of Issuer Regulation to dispense obligations by representing the role at various meetings when required.
  • Identify and appropriately manage risks and opportunities in the division within the Groups risk appetite including the focus on cyber risk for the division.
  • Ensure that Technology fully supports the functions in Issuer Regulation by providing input into the design and development of computer systems.
  • Implement data protection principles and processes in the division ensuring compliance with POPIA and FMAS.
