General Manager: Infrastructure – South African National Parks (SANParks)

Deadline: 14 November | Location: Groenkloof National Park (Head Office) – Pretoria

Salary: Grade E1 – all-inclusive cost to company, fixed-term contract for 5 years.

Report to: Managing Executive – Parks Division.

Job Description

Manage and coordinate SANParks Infrastructure Portfolio, ensuring compliance with legislation, policy development and budget management.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate strategic planning of the Infrastructure Portfolio for maintenance, recapitalisation and new developments.
  • Implement requirements of the Framework for Infrastructure Delivery and Procurement Management (FIDPM) and Infrastructure Reporting Model (IRM).
  • Lead the Parks Division Technical Services and Infrastructure Unit (Project Management Unit).
  • Programme management of Infrastructure & Green Energy programmes – programme planning, budget implementation and financial management.
  • Develop project proposals, business plans and implementation plans.
  • Strategic procurement management and contract development.
  • Administration and data management to meet reporting requirements.
  • Prepare reports for management and funders and liaise with funders and role-players.
  • Develop policies and SOPs for capital and maintenance processes.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • NQF level 8 qualification in any Built Environment discipline (Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, Quantity Surveying, or Project Management).
  • Registered with the South African Council for Project and Construction Management (Manager / Civil Engineer / Quantity Surveyor / Architect).
  • Seven to ten years of infrastructure management experience, including programme and project management at a strategic organisational level.
  • Knowledge of the Framework for Infrastructure Delivery and Procurement Management and relevant legislation.
  • Experience in policy and infrastructure planning.
  • Valid Code EB driver’s licence and strong Microsoft Office competency.
